Our Story
Having gluten, dairy, and refined sugar allergies doesn’t mean my diet is bland and boring. I can eat things like cake and still feel good! It’s the recipe that needs to change not my body.
Making it happen
Flourishing Festivities came about organically over time. What started as me navigating my kids and my food sensitivities and trying to make beautiful birthday cakes for them has evolved into a flourishing business I could never have imagined at the time of my son’s first birthday. In January 2020 I launched my blog “Flourishing Festivities” with the intention to blog about the healthy, nourishing, and thrifty parties I threw for my kids. This quickly evolved into a cake business as I became inspired to take my paleo cakes to the farmer’s market. The blog turned into primarily an order website and a place to share the cakes I was making. I worked at the farmer’s market for 2 seasons and then in 2022 decided to take a break from that and just focus on custom orders. In June 2022 I became inspired to make this my full-time gig and pursue putting my products in restaurants, cafes, and stores. Custom cakes are still my passion, however, wholesale is my bread and butter.
Amy, owner and baker of Flourishing Festivities, is a single mom of 4 boys all with food sensitivities to gluten, dairy, refined sugar, and food coloring. She has dedicated years to curating the perfect paleo cake recipes for them and now is sharing them with the world. She’s been decorating cakes from an early age starting as a kid with her dad who worked from the Betty Crocker cake decorating book and she quickly mastered the craft and took over the family birthday cake tradition.
Flourishing Festivities is proud to to be a
QUEER and AFRICAN owned business!
